Caloscypha fulgens

FRUIT BODY: 1 - 6cm irregular cup shaped fruiting body with a bright yellow outer surface that turns blue and a deeper orange inner surface that also bruises blue. Margin slightly incurved at first but becoming expanded. GILLS/PORES: N/A. FLESH: Brittle with no distinct aroma. SPORES: Hyaline, smooth, globose with thin walls. HABITAT: Usually in groups in wet boggy areas. SEASON: Infrequent. Spring to early summer. EDIBILITY: Inedible.
